The Betty is a booked, live stand-up show with the intention of giving underrepresented pockets of the comedy talent pool more substantial chunks of stage time to polish up tv/festival sets or make quality recordings to help get on that radar.
It's monthly, paid, ticketed and tight! 15-minute sets with one unpaid booked guest spot as time allows. Priority is given to women, non-binary folks, and those from the BIPOC and lgbtq+ community.
Comedians with merch will be given space to set up shop on the nights they perform and will be responsible for all transactions. There is terrific space to hang out before and after the show. The performance space is in the back and tickets are required to access it unless you are on a show. Our covid protocols are in alignment with those of Society Clubhouse.
If you would like to be booked on The Betty, please make that request below. You may be asked for a link to a recent performance. If you are at the beginning of your comedy career, and you're excited to watch, hang, and learn from pros, please come watch and hang!
The Betty is in an accessible space on College St. west of Dovercourt with washrooms on the main floor. Smash like on our Facebook page for upcoming show details.
