The Betty is a booked, live stand-up show with the intention of giving underrepresented pockets of the comedy talent pool more substantial chunks of stage time to polish up tv/festival sets or make quality recordings to help get on that radar.
It's monthly, paid, ticketed and tight! 15-minute sets with one or two unpaid booked guest spots as time allows. Priority is given to women, non-binary folks, and those from the BIPOC and lgbtq+ community.
Comedians with merch will be given space to set up shop on the nights they perform and will be responsible for all transactions. There is a terrific front of house space to hang out before and after the show. Heads up, the performance space is bright as heck during the summer months!
If you would like to be booked on The Betty, please make that request below. You may be asked for a link to a recent performance. If you are at the beginning of your comedy career, and you're excited to watch, hang, and learn from pros, please come watch and hang! To avoid the awkward door moment, shoot a heads up in the chat so we can guest list you.
The Betty is in an accessible space at 967 College St. west of Dovercourt with washrooms on the main floor. Smash like on our Facebook page for upcoming show details.
